Miika and Olli Lakkahillo are brothers from the sparsely populated area ofNorth Karelia. They make a living as goat sheperds and are one of the lastrepresentatives alive of authentic Finnish folk music traditions. Besides folksongs they also perform own compositions which derive from the rich folkculture they carry inside their souls.Listening to the Lakkahillo Songbook one can experience the intimacy of theraw and pure performance of their deeply meditative and highly spiritualmusic.The recording sessions were held in the brothers' cottage using only one mic.Some of their songs are accompanied with guitar some are 'a capella'.
